Based on Alice Walker's award-winning novel, the Color Purple tells the story of a rural family living in Georgia, over a period of 40 years. The story unfolds as main character Celie is forced by her abusive father to marry a cruel father and she becomes separated from all that she loves. The Color Purple is "an inspiring family saga that tells the unforgettable story of a woman who – through love – finds the strength to triumph over adversity and discover her unique voice in the world."

Featuring an all-local cast, this inspiring story is bought to life  for the first time in South Africa by director Janice Honeyman and her team with a vision to adress themes of sexism, racism, the disruption of traditional gender roles, women’s rights and sisterhood in a relevant setting.

Don't miss out on this beautiful story of finding strength through love!
